Configure viewing attachments as HTML

When Attachments can be viewed in HTML only is enabled, attachments to email can only be viewed in HTML. Opening an attachment in HTML can be faster than opening in the original format.

Another option is Attachments may be viewed in HTML and their original format.  Users are given the option to either open the attachment in the original format or to view the attachment in HTML.

The ability to view email attachments as HTML can be enabled as a global setting, by class of service, or for individual accounts.

Note: If Attachments are viewed in HTML regardless of COS is enabled in Global Settings, all accounts can view attachments only in HTML. If this feature is not enabled as a global setting, the account attachment setting overrides the COS attachment setting for that account.

Procedure to set up by Account
  1. Go to Manage > Accounts.

  2. In the Content pane, select the account and in the gear icon select Edit.

  3. Click Advanced and in the Attachment Settings section select either Attachments may be viewed in HTML only, or Attachments may be viewed in HTML and their original format.

  4. Click Save.

Procedure to set up by Class of Service
  1. Go to Configure > Class of Service.

  2. In the Content pane, select the COS and in the gear icon select Edit.

  3. Click Advanced and in the Attachment Settings section select either Attachments may be viewed in HTML only, or Attachments may be viewed in HTML and their original format.

  4. Click Save.
